Filter Search Results for Active Participants
When a custodian has messaged or reacted to a message, they are considered an active participant.
To cull data to only certain active participant(s) in a conversation, use the Participants filter (a). Checking off multiple custodians (b) works as a boolean ‘AND’ function. For example, checking off Isaiah and Lee will show conversations in which both users actively have participated. |
Search Passive Membership
When a custodian has access to view a conversation, regardless of whether or not they have participated, they are considered a member of that conversation.
To search for anywhere a custodian is a member, use the basic search bar to type, @”Person’s Name” (note: case sensitive). When you begin typing the user’s name, a list of users to select from will appear for convenience (a). For example, to view conversations in which Lee Gu is a member, type @”Lee” and select their name from the list (b). |
Conversations Between Users
A common request for legal professionals is to find conversations between custodians A and B. The best way to look for conversations involving two people is to use the unique identifier “Conversation ID” in Onna.
Each conversation, whether 1-to-1 or 1-to-many, will have a unique identifier for the lifetime of that conversation. To find the Conversation ID, follow the steps below:
Step 1To begin, navigate to the search results in your workspace by clicking on the magnifying glass in the basic search bar (a). Then, click the results view icon (b) on the right hand side of your screen to select “Table View.” Then, navigate to the toggle icon (c) and click on the arrow next to the ‘Custom’ (d) option to select ;Conversation ID’ (e) as a column in your table view. |

Step 2The best way to look for conversations involving two people is to use the unique identifier “Conversation ID” in Onna (a). Next, simply copy and paste the Conversation ID into the search bar (b). For example, if you want to search for all direct messages between Isaiah and Patti (regardless of participation), find their direct message conversation in Onna (By either searching membership or participation - As seen in previous instructions within this article) and then copy and paste their Conversation ID into the search bar. |
